Great cinematography, and CGI with very beautiful scenes, a work of art visually. Unfortunately, the film was empty. Poor acting, zero character development, zero plot. Actually it was like watching a space themed 4k tv demo / screen saver on YouTube. The sound editing was just terrible, and with what little dialogue this movie had, the audio spoken by the actors was in the dirt, being maybe 80db lower in volume than the music. This causes distorted, garbled audio that is unintelligible.
Then there was total over use of dark scenes, in fact the entire film (of the hour I watched) was just dark. Yes beautiful, but dark. Overuse of of desert shots. Way too many shots of the many ship's landing gear. Really WB, how many hours did you work on CGI for ships landing? It's cool once, but dozens? Even the space scenes were dark. Maybe you guys should consult with NASA, because planets are super bright, and so are stars.. Oh, and the movie stars were A list, but the acting was cheap B. No emotion, no range, just flat.
Only watched an hour, and shut it off. If was that bad. I’m done, no more Dune.
