This movie was woefully prevented from fully realizing its potential (and reaching the high standards of I and II), choosing, instead, to focus on “tying the entire Conjuring Universe into a singular, tidy resolution.” i spent more time Googling miniscule character/plot/setting nuances from all the spin-offs to make sense of the current plot. Devoid of the bone-chilling scares, surreal cinematography, and psychological thrills of the first two films, The Devil Made Me Do It is a forgettable film that failed to meet expectations.
