Love Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters but I have to admit I love him a little bit less after not being able to finish his book. Learning about his childhood was cool and some of the concert stories were the insight I was looking for but then the on and on about the icons that he is buddies with and his AMAZING kids expose it for the unfortunate humble brag that it actually is. What I did glean is that he is carrying a nice chip on his shoulder for not going to college and tried to make up for that with incessant, unnecessary trips to the Thesaurus which made the read tortuous. Would have appreciated learning some insight about the Nirvana years and what did and didn't work, and the same for the Foo Fighters. What about his 1st marriage? Is he an alcoholic? Mor insight on his parents? I don't know? This just read as a fawning extension of a TV puff piece made worse by the fact that he wrote it, and maybe no one with a spine edited it, and, as was my case, he read it to me. Still love Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters but learned more about him by what wasn't in there.
