Daniel Brickman

I was initially drawn in by the first few episodes, but by episode 5-6 of the first season, I was getting lost in all the plot lines. Also I personally did not enjoy what seemed like everyone hooking up with each other. Not opposed to it, it’s just not very interesting. On a conceptual level, it kind of felt like “Devs” in that the promise of a conceptual destination (here, descension into cannibalism) was more enticing than the actual delivery. Maybe I should watch more, but honestly I just don’t want to. And I love Juliette Lewis, but it seemed like her acting was a bit flat and one-dimensional in this one. I normally like stories in this category but was turned off by the show.

I haven’t seen very many episodes, so I’ll be brief. The show is compelling enough, but honestly the non-stop drama and “ethereal” musical reverb makes me a little nauseated after an episode or two. Not to mention the oversized virtuosity of the characters. But, many people disagree, so maybe this just isn’t my show.
