I have watched Ip Man 1, 2, 3, 4. If I had to rank them, I would put Ip Man 1 as #1, purely for nostalgia-sake. 4 is a close 2nd. There is no better setting than the Sino-Japanese War set in the first film. Lives were at stake. Hence it is more dramatic than all other Ip Man films. If you are a fan of Ip Man but have not seen Ip Man 1, I urge you to watch it.
