Quite simply one of the finest films ever made. If you’re Scottish, every character will remind you of one of your parents friends growing up and you’ll think of them fondly if no longer here. Cinematic perfection!

Didn’t read any reviews prior to watching the show and had no knowledge of the true story on which the program is loosely based. I thought it was a truly wonderful piece of television drama, showcasing fantastic actors at their very best! I’m totally surprised to see so many negative reviews of the show, to the extent that it makes me feel I should never decide whether to watch something based on a review ever again. I’ll make my own mind up and hopefully come across other TV gems that could have possibly passed me by.
