I watched this movie way back in 1981, and for me it exasibates all the feelings and emotions, that one would feel for a first love, barring setting the house on fire there is a intensity of pure unadulterated love that sheer words can not express and I am sure all those who wrote negative reviews of this movie, have surely not experienced such pure thoughts for just one person , there first. David's mind one could say borders on psychotic, however it is also could be said that his love was a exacly what being a teenager is all about, it is obvious that critics seem to have missed the whole point off the story, and pick hole upon hole into it, but for those off us who have been through tormented dramas similar to this in our baby youth, this brings back a boiling point off emotions that we can empathize with David and jades affair, I for one experienced such agonizing turmoil, she was 15 and I was 17, her father totally disaproved, granted I did not burn the house down, but watching David and jade catapulted me back in a time off innocence and unadulterated love were only the 2 off us mattered

Although the film was long, I felt it had a good story line , the acting is good especially when the 2 queens meet in the laundry barn, the music was tence and emotional and was brought home to it's full extent off a crescendo to wards the end off the movie by max richter

Just binge watched taboo , only watched it because off the main man , thought it was slow didn't keep engrossed not one off Tom Hardys best by any means , definitely episode 7 and 8 are the 2 best episodes, a shame really because I really do like Tom's acting style ,
