Having discovered it on 4Music, I'm re-watching it avidly. I must have before because I remembered Reese's revelation that 'women are human cows.' I also liked his observation that when his husband found out he was a dude, 'it was not a deal-breaker.' There was one scene where a girlfriend of Francis is watching Buffy while he's phoning, and this show's wittiness could well derive from that show's prior example. The writing's excellent, the characters differentiated and well-acted though Malcolm sounds like a younger Francis, always railing. The best character, of course, is the evil grandma who stills chirruping birds and crickets by her very presence. I liked the throwaways, like Francis telling he's lost his job on the ranch without my quite understanding how, and not picking up a hitching Eric, oh and the wonderful running gag of Bernard the hamster. It's been good to watch as we come out of lockdown.
