Overall it's a great saga if you love westerns, which I do. However, a couple of things. As another reviewer said, it starts out gritty and tough, then seems to turn a bit soap-opera-ish. And I swear, WHY are the women in these shows always shown in clean clothes and many with their hair blowing in the wind? For the sex appeal? People, women in those days wore their hair up and OUT OF THEIR FACES. Nobody wants their hair blowing around in a tangle when they're trying to ride a horse at speed. Nobody's clothes were clean and in great shape after months on the trail. Get Real. Pay attention to the details (don't use 21st century language either) and you have a fabulous show. Get sloppy with costuming, set design and historical details, and then not so much.
