Before boarding a flight to from Sarasota, Florida to LAX…. I read the first paragraph of several books to test drive a mind-occupying read for the flight.
Mitch Albom’s “the little liar” was my companion for the flight to-and-fro. Each time I cracked it open for a read I was kept company by the four characters journey from the unimaginable hell of war to the invisible bondage that they carried after “liberation”.
The idea that narrator … was Truth, was a needed moral compass through the darkness.
It’s hard to flip through the pages and not see a parallel to today’s tug-a war with TRUTH. How a lie told once is forgettable, but when told thousands of times, become a new reality. How hatred is so easily planted and fed until it dehumanizes and scorches the idea humanity.
Thank YOU for this book, Mitch. It took me through time and made me look at today with wider eyes.
