I didn’t know it was a musical and that could have been a percentage of my disappointment! If I wanted to see a stage play or Musical I would have seen it on stage. It seemed rushed and pivotal emotional scenes were not there. Singing every 5 minutes takes away from the seriousness of key scenes. I felt the Original Movie was so amazing and so much better. I tried to like it but I didn’t. I do like to support Oprah and Black actors and I am satisfied I went to the theater to support the film industry other people who work so hard. Even though I like the original movie better, you may feel differently. I am glad I did see it!
