Gripping story that reads like a “who done it” with lots of foreshadowing to keep you guessing. I liked the intense level of character development for the small cast. It felt intimate—a story of innocence and awakening; we were let into the lifetime connection between the grave digger and his daughter as well as the guilt between mother and daughter. We also revisited a classic trope of money, power and greed, I enjoy a good psychological thriller. To me it had a redeeming message of strength and survival for the main female character, based on the authors grandmother.
