I love this book! For those who gave it less than five stars you need to read it again. For you others, this book is anything but rote. If you are into minute details and stuff about the band you thought you already knew, you are in for a big surprise. The author has meticulously given you everything you need to know about the band...well not everything, as there are two other books forthcoming which I'm pretty sure are written in the same biographical style...and that is good. The thing I came away with is that these guys worked their butts off to become the superstars they are. They certainly paid their dues and because of that they have been richly rewarded. The Eagles Before the Band is interesting in such a way you don't even need to be a fan to enjoy it. If you like in-depth research and great stories about the biggest band in America, I highly recommend this fascinating book.
