Too “everything bad”. I can imagine the actors and directors thought this was a brilliant film....just not for the rest of us watching it. Sandler does an excellent job portraying the main character, but the whole story is quite implausible and the viewer is under constant assault by the visual and theatrical and musical performances. The soundtrack is even assaulting the audience. Most difficult film I’ve ever watched. More so than Apocalypse Now. Creatively, it’s quite impressive. But should come with a warning!
