This is a lovely period piece but I got sometimes confused with the flashbacks and flashforwards. It was often difficult for me to tell which "present-day" characters I was seeing years earlier or after. But it's beautifully acted. Olivia Coleman is there for two reasons: to look irretrievably broken and to give a 15-second monologue that will stick with you. I recommend it.
