I enjoyed the subtle acting it felt more natural. Sometimes these thriller movies have exaggerated actors. It’s a breath of fresh air to see people of color portrayed in high careers, and with high standards and values. Mea’s character is an upstanding, strong woman who has to deal with a demeaning Mother-in-law and Brother-in-law. I think that is very relatable when it comes to that family dynamic. Her marriage is struggling because her spouse doesn’t have a backbone when it comes to his family. Which then bleeds into their relationship, she loses respect for him. However, her loyalty to the idea of keeping a family is the reason why she’s sealing her lips, and trying to support her marriage. His inability to create healthy boundaries causes her to question their marriage and ultimately she becomes the martyr of their relationship. The relationship between her and her client was intense because HE was MYSTERIOUS AND INTENSE. She didn’t need to buckle at the knees for him or show that sign of weakness for him to understand that he still had dominance over her. I ACTUALLY APPRECIATE THE FACT THAT THEY RESPECTED HER THROUGH THE MOVIE AND DID NOT EXPOSE HER, ALTHOUGH THE MOVIE WAS AN EROTIC THRILLER. The ending was definitely a plot twist, however, I did wish to see a little more details and exposure on the family. It kind of wrapped up quickly.
