Oh Dear

Firstly, As a strong lover of the first last of us and someone who couldn’t wait for last of us 2 after telling everyone it’s going to be awesome. It disappointed. Im a girl and the way they humiliated Joel and made him seem stupid in the first two hours is a complete contradiction to the first game where we was playing a guy who had street smarts, he knew the game and what people said to con others. SPOILER However in this one he trusts a female within two minutes of knowing her and than gets beat up with a golf club. Like really. If that wasn’t bad enough Ellie blames Joel for saving her life and hates on him til he dies. Ellie lets the killer get away with his death multiple times and appears very selfish, not the Ellie we know that cared about Joel and the world. She makes Joel’s death seem like a joke since the whole game is committed to giving Joel justice and in the end she didn’t do that. Also considering you play as Ellie’s killer, and they try and make you feel sympathetic that she killed him is just not a game I want to play, they guilt trip you for caring about Joel and they just make Joel look like a massive joke to the game, yet he is the very reason this game is so loved. Secondly, with the amount of walking/ cut scenes you do, the game gets boring. I have played the first last of us seven times and have never been bored of that game, however this one just didn’t give me that shock factor and wow factor that naughty dog produced in the first game, I thought I got to the ending about five times and after that the game just dragged. It was just dull, boring and honestly not worth the time if you are a lover of the first game. Thirdly, they tried to add a lot of different people in the game, a lesbian, a pregnant lesbian, and a transgender child; which is fine I agree people need more recognition but they made it the point of the game, this wasn’t about zombies and a story about a girl and a man who saved her, it was more of a story which they shoved in your face to make every person happy, and ultimately it ruined the game. The graphics are immaculate as always and Naughty dog never fails to please with the standards of graphics, especially for the PS4, however the graphics alone can’t top the low rating I’m putting due to the, standard gaming, the very little shock value, the boring story line/ plot and overall the disappointment of a game that people have waited 7 years for. It is not worth your money. I pray that they do not bring any more last of us games out because this is just a spat in the face to anybody who loved the first game. Like Joel said “see there was a sequel, wasn’t as good”, while I never expected any game to top the first last of us and the amazing story, this doesn’t even deserve a 2/5 for me, it’s a shocking disappointment and end to a great game. Period.
