Until Elsbeth arrives in NYC, the NYPD have been wrongfully and lazily arresting and imprisoning its citizens. She does whatever she wants and whenever she wants to. Her socially awkward interactions are her form of getting evidence and she feigns ignorance if called out on fishing for answers. She’s never wrong. She quickly adopts a black sidekick who has to dumb herself down and try not outshine her when she’s out of uniform. A blissful world of an unruly woman pretending to be ignorant and drawing conclusions prematurely that just so happen to right.
