I largely ignored Downton Abbey for the first two seasons. Access to PBS was not that easy, and I haven’t watched “normal” TV in decades, and generally negative reports about it didn’t change my agnostic attitude towards the show. But a friend suggested I actually might like it. I’ve been hooked ever since. While I did like this New Era plot, and there were many scenes that did not disappoint, there were some parts near the end that smacked of a little too much “Hollywood” s keenly sweet syrup! Overall, I still enjoyed it, and plan to see it again before it leaves the theaters.
