Great movie. As a Civil War enthusiast, it was nice to see the South portrayed accurately in the Reconstruction period. Former Confederate veterans make up a lot of the movie, and they show realistic emotion in connection with the times, without feeling forced or unrealistically vilified by modern viewpoints. The only negative that I could really come up with would be the pistol used by the protagonist was supposedly an issued firearm from the war. It would have been black powder, requiring a lengthy reloading process, not simply reloading brass cartridges. Also, he fired approximately 12 times before reloading it. However, this was a very minor detraction for me. Watch it!
