Children of Men must be one the most depressing Movies I have ever seen and certain had no humour in it - and reminded me of the gas camps of Germany with the way they were killing immigrants and this was supposed to be Britain in 2027 Clive Owen tried hard and michael Caine and Chiwetel Ejiofor were fine for the short time they were in it. Owen had to deliver a girl to a boat because she was pregnant in a world where no children had been born for 18 years and their job was to get her to safety as if she was the hope of the world ???? I do not remember anyone explaining why the human race was all sterile or why all of a sudden one young woman became pregnant. I don't know where P D James was when he wrote it but he must have been in a dark place. I would have slashed my wrists if I lived in that time

I saw it last night at the Theatre on the big screen and thought it was filmed very well -characters reasonably authentic for the times - Kenneth Branagh was excellent as Poiret New twist on the story was excellent Scenery and photography was superb The last scene 6 months (I think) after the Nile excursion was a little puzzling and for Poiret to have no scars on his right cheek from WWI was a glitch

I watched the movie when it came out in the fifties and loved it Kim Novak was a beautiful enchantress and I think Jack Lemmon played her flighty brother. Just an adorable bewitching movie - recommend it Jimmy Stewart was popular and played the bumbling besotted human pretty well.
