As I expected the problem is in the blocking, storyboarding and shot selection. Another is lighting inside cockpits and in space. Too much reliance on CG yet no one thinks of practical lighting use or pyrotechnics to make scenes more convincing. The shot selection problem is most glaring in the coronation scenes of episode two. Skewered angles, field of view too high, no buildup of shots. Shots too far when it should be focused on main actors in a scene. Overhead shots when there shouldn't be. Almost like no one storyboarded the sequences and they just went with random shots stapled together. I'm hoping this gets fixed but since all the episodes have been produced it looks like this faux cinematography would stay for the whole series.
