Germinal is my all time favorite book, which I read in 1965.
It is a powerful story and scenes are vividly etched in my mind.
When I go back to rereading it, I am older and I find the passion
almost too much to take, and the love descriptions so very sweet and touching.
By the way, I am Dianne Faust, not David, and I read all of my
husbands books from Northwestern Univ. when we married and
did not yet have a TV.
