deeply moving and still with me days later I highly recommend this movie. If you're a man who is taking issue then you aren't a "nice guy" and need to reflect. Spoilers ahead: Yes Cassie takes revenge on the not so nice guys who try to take advantage of her while she pretends to be ridiculously drunk but not consenting but also what she does to the two female characters who were complicit in the actions that drove her best friend to kill herself after being gang raped is not something other people are mentioning but worth noting. As not all men are "nice guys" not all women, despite sharing gender, are allies.

This is such an important film. It opens our eyes to how we treat animals of all types but here esp Orcas (it did drive me crazy they kept saying "kiler whales" bc it furthers the wrong narrative that Orcas are murderous creatures that human must fear). There are no incidents of Orcas killing humans in the wild! Yes, they do kill cute seals and dolphins but that's just what they evolved to eat. Now in this documentary they specifically point out Tikullum and the way he was so badly treated. He did kill 3 trainers but when you are shown how he was grabbed from his family (who cried!) and put in a tiny bathtub when Orcas are used to traveling long distances every day and then forced to perform and fish rewards were withheld when he didn't do what they wanted you will understand how they forced him to be as he turned out. All of his trainers and the man part of the team who took him from the ocean regret seriously their parts in his treatment. And he had a bent top fin as many Orcas do in captivity (very rare in the wild) how can you not see how depressed he and the others are? Time to review it all and shut down Sea World for good.
