This movie gets it right. With the CGI available today, the accuracy of the planes, ships and environments was perfect. If the acting was a bit melodramatic, the quality of the production more than makes up for it. It transports you to 1942. Brooklyn accents, tough guy sailors, and a great torch singer. I am student of naval history, and especially action in the Pacific theatre; I loved every minute of this movie. The inclusion of Pearl Harbor and the Doolittle raid were much better than the recent Pearl Harbor movie, were they necessary? Maybe not, but at least they were accurate. This is the best war movie since Tora, Tora Tora!
