Ann McCarthy

This is a wonderful book full of the most beautiful illustrations. Its message is so simply and powerfully put. The first-person narration makes the boy and his great-grandfather come alive, and the stunning pictures really evoke the power and beauty of the story and the land. I do not know the author, despite sharing one of her names, but I like this book so much that I have bought it for my grandson, Finn.
