I think this attempt at a mash up of Sci-fi and abandonment issues felt by a son was a complete misfire. Brad Pitt's performance was lack luster. Tommy Lee Jones character was so limited in screen time and dialog, that he did not even have much of a chance to make his performance stand out. The visuals of the film were stimulating to the eye and were executed with an authentic look. Especially during the spacewalk scenes. Overall I found the movie to be slow paced and uninspired. To me it is a very forgettable movie. I felt the ending was very predictable and left me wanting something more than Tommy Lee Jones going crazy. I would rate the movie 3 stars and that was mostly due to the visual impression.
