Its a fun game, but the game is extremely poor when it comes to singleplayer - They give you two NPC characters who are next-to useless and have no proper AI and the missions require multiple people to do properly. So you'll spend half an hour doing a mission and if you get downed, your teammates are no where to be seen and you have to do the mission from the very beginning and you get nothing at all from it.
There are missions where you have to protect multiple points at the same time otherwise the enemies stop progress, but you can't be in two places at once and the AI people always blindly flow you and get in the way so missions that should take 20-30minutes instead take up to an hour to do.
The Teammate AI is so bad that that it makes me want to stop playing the game but I enjoy using the guns in it so am forced to play levels that aren't so heavily team focused (Which is like 3 missions).
By extension, i am also forced to play on lower (and less rewarding) difficulties because it would be impossible solo.
There are also parts where you have to drive vehicles through a very convenient pathway, but the AI teammates don't board the vehicle to help shoot, so you have to drive without them, but, there are enemies dotted all over the course shooting you and then you get downed and your teammates are all the way over the other side of the map and ignore you when you call them for help, resulting in a failed mission attempt. Its happened at least 3 times now and when you get really far on a tougher difficulty its just BS that you can never get past that point because of the same stupid reason.
The added kick in the teeth is that you start getting an penalty on the EXP you earn if you keep replaying missions, so it basically penalises you for playing solo and having to put up with their Bulls**t AI system.
It's safe to say that its about £25 wasted and I won't be playing it that long as it seems that they only want you to play online or suffer the consequences. Shame really because if the AI was even slightly good, then it could be a much more enjoyable experience.
NPC's aside, the game is cool for leveling up and upgrading your characters, the skills can be really beneficial but also remain subtle and the "Freeform" class style is good - It lets you build your character to your playstyle.
an annoying part to the game is the random loot drop thing. you basically pick a card at the end of the mission and it gives you a random item (Weapon mod, mask, colour for the mask, pattern for the mask, etc) but it's all random chance and if you want to upgrade your guns you have to pray that you get the piece you need. they let you pay in game money to help hedge your bets towards a particular item (Weapon mod, mask, ect) but as what item specifically you get is all chance. and It frustrates me that you play the game for 100's of hours and not get the thing you want, which forces you to either use something else, or again, suffer for it because there is no work around.
I give it 1 and a 1/2 stars because it's fun, but there are more drawbacks to the game than there are Pro's
