This had to be the worst expansion ffxiv has done to date. The cut scenes dragged on and had the depth of characters like a 2nd grader wrote the story. It was all I could do to stay with the game to complete the story. It felt choppy and filled with useless go here, go there and the the usual story gated behind a dungeon/raid that you could never get people to queue for and had to finally give in and run it with npc's. It was brutally boring. The main character was not believable nor was she interesting. I struggled to listen to this garbage they called a story for weeks and weeks. The flow is cut up so you cant explore an area fully (again much locked behind the horrible storyline) The best things about the expansion are the new jobs which were fun to play, and the dungeons if you could get a group to run them. Other than that the main city is ugly and I am not sure what the wild west theme mixed with an aztec theme is doing it didnt make sense to have a saloon with the law officer sounding like a little kid and the characters names look like a cat ran across the keyboard. All in all I really did not like this expansion beyond the new jobs and I will most likely move on from ffxiv as soon as I finish this segment. Why did they add instances in the new city? Im like the ONLY one in the city its so dumb. It makes the game look vacant. Its also appalling that they lock things to earn behind bi color gemstones which force you to run 5000 fates just go get a pair of wings or they make you diddle around a stupid personal island to waste your time to keep you in game so that they continue to collect your monthly fee. Mind you, you cant teleport directly to that island you have to go to moraby dry docks to get there.. its insane! Meanwhile this game still will not fix requests like normal facial hair on mens faces they are all weird looking minimal beards. If you want a normal looking beard on a roegadyn for example, you have to go with the green/grey roegadyn not the tan skin ones..all stupidity. Yet they can add a gazillian pony tails for women but the men have little to no options for trying to look oh I dont know.. more manly?? There is the strange color combinations that are a bit off when creating a hrothgar like you cant get a true purple or pink or blue they are all off color versions and then the fur color doesnt have those same options as the skin colors making it all a little weird or even better they continue to make the hrothgar not able to wear hats..This game has become a slew of bad options.. boring storyline...bad design...and loss of players...maybe they will eventually get the hint.
