There are good and bad actors in any community. The secular community has its bad actors too. Both communities, by in large, have good decent people. If appears that this film focuses on the bad actors. And, given the “therapist” in this film, credibility is questionable.
I would never tolerate the actions of some of these clowns as most in the community would not. Again, the film cherry picks the bad things in the community to create drama.
Nobody is holding these folks hostage. It’s not for everyone. If you’re not happy you can go your own non-religious way. Just like the individuals in this film did. Nobody from the community will be chasing them down like, by example, Scientology.
Many in this world are well educated and are certainly not left to get a minimum wage job if they chose a different path
