Fantastic and well written example of Indigenous Futurism and the Native Apocalypse in SF. I couldn't put it down, there are multiple storylines that interweave this narrative, so if you stuggle with that, mark the chapters if you need to.
It's both a retelling of the historical equivalent 'apocalypse' events experienced by the First Nations people of Australia as a result of colonialsm from first contact to modern era, but told in a manner that is accessible for readers of any background. The narrative techniques in the storytelling were engaging. To those studying this for English lit, I would suggest you look into the concepts of Critical Indigenous Theory, Indigenous SF and Postcolonial Theory for your approach on analysis. I'm curious if the cliff hanger ending is a comparable subversion to the 'Vanishing (Native) American' trope you see in American SF.
