A very strange film, but compelling watching. There is no "action" to speak of, and the pace is very slow, but I found it strangely mesmerising. Scarlett Johansson's acting is amazing. She says very little, and what she does say is in a very good English accent, and so what's going on inside her character's head is conveyed almost entirely through body language and facial expression.
The way she conveys curiosity, bewilderment, confusion, vulnerability and fear without words is quite mesmerising. To my mind this film is about the transformation from what's under the skin being the dominating factor, to the skin gradually taking over, and the predator becoming the prey.
For me, it's one of those films where, the more often you watch it, the more it gets under your own skin, and the more you appreciate what an acting master class it is from Scarlett Johansson.
