Do you ever get the feeling that a movie was made just to soft launch an extended universe? That's what Borderlands feels like, a jumble of the most 'marketable' parts of an extremely information-dense video game universe to make more slop - I can't wait for what comes next! I am thinking of a costly, visually dull 4/10 TV show that gets like 2 seasons, a wacky cartoon show starring Claptrap and Krieg, and more garbage movies that cost over 100 million to make.
Storywise, it is dull, which is a shame as they could have made any one of the DLCs for any of the games into a movie - A heist movie from the Secret Armory of General Knoxx, a 'let's join forces and fight the real bad guy' arena fight like Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, anything aside from what it was - An uninspired testing ground for the public's opinion on another overproduced videogame movie.
