Season 1 was great! Very intelligent, you won’t find this kind of writing and dialogue in shows that came out after 2020 anymore (only one or two exceptions come to my mind).
But season 2 was awful, they switched the intelligence with relationship drama (the thing the vast majorities are interested in) and the most intelligent character became the most satirical portrayal of herself.
This seems to be a common thing with intelligent shows, take the Big Bang Theory for example, it started with the main characters saying intelligent things and the viewers could relate because they were watching the depiction of stereotypical nerds. And then in (I believe) season 3 they switched the intelligence with relationship drama, suddenly all of them had girlfriends, and Sheldon Cooper became a dumb parody of himself. Ah, good lord…
I think the only way to have intelligent characters in a movie or show and be successful is if you throw in enough violence and sex.
And for the future, if you see smart character in a show or movie I guarantee you that in the next season he will have relationship problems and become a dumb parody of himself.
