Amazon spent millions of dollars so their reputation is on the line. Therefore we are seeing a lot of paid magazines and critics trying to pump it up. Unfortunately the only thing justified by the big budget is the shiny CGI scenes. Amazon destroyed the work of Robert Jordan by their production of Wheel of Time, by giving the project to a incompetent woke sissy called Rafe Judkins. This time Amazon wanted their Game of Thrones, so instead they got TWO incompetent woke show-runners. The story, the plot and the acting is so pretentious and bland it's heart breaking being a fan of Tolkien's work. The story is slightly inspired by Tolkien's writing. Every plot and twist is so obvious. Orcs are looking for a broken sword stolen by a little boy. Gandalf is saved and fed, clothed, taught to speak by Harfoot-not-Hobbits, creating the narrative why Gandalf will love Hobbits in the LotR movies. Galadriel is predicted to bring back the evil she seeks by Gil-Galad and tries to send her West, but she jumps ship instead. And saves Halbrand-Sauron. If you have nothing better to do than waste many hours of your life, be my guest and watch it. But I have deiced to cancel my Amazon subscription. No to commercial corporations ruining works of art anymore.
