If you're expecting it to be a nature documentary, you're probably not going to like it. If you take it for what it is- heartwarming bed time stories with killer cinematography- it's pretty charming and original. Special effects are used to prevent any real harm or distress to the animals. The stories portrayed aren't supposed to be realistic although there are educational bits. I guess a lot of people aren't understanding that because they think it's supposed to be a documentary. Good for kids or animal-loving grownups who still have a touch of whimsy.

It was fun to play, but the 'twist' at the end was stupid as Hell and kind of ruined the story for me.

Not 'so bad it's good', more like 'so bad it'll make anyone with braincells seethe with rage'.

It's just Groundhog Day for Millenials. Basic romcom formula and the 'sci fi twist' isn't as fleshed out or inspired as it had the potential to be. Adding fake quantum physics jargon does not make it any more 'sci-fi' than Groundhog Day was. Still, had some laugh out loud moments and I love Andy Samberg. But if you expect it to have any kind of real depth or artistic merit due to the rave reviews, you're gonna be let down. It's the kind of movie you watch after having a few drinks, have a couple laughs and then forget about eventually. There are a few messages in it, but nothing that hasn't been tackled many times before in other stories.
