I’m really surprised by all the positive reviews. This movie is beyond bizarre and struggles to make sense throughout. Performances are over the top, even laughable at times. The plot is ridiculous, bordering perverse and nonsensical. It’s extremely slow paced, weird and difficult to follow. I was very disappointed. Watch at your own risk.

Usually it takes cult leaders more effort and a longer time to lure, indoctrinate and gain the blind trust of their followers. However, the way this is edited, makes it seem like the young adults in the movie lacked any common sense and trusted him right away. How could anyone be that gullible and less than smart? Especially, so called intelligent college students that are at an age where they’re supposed to question things and not take things for face value? Why did their parents not step in? It’s sad to see how easy it is to manipulate the average person. Now, years later these same students are playing victim. No one forced them to follow Larry or to commit perverse acts. Larry looked and sounded off as soon as I heard and saw him on screen. How did they not pick up on this? Why did they not think it was weird and unacceptable for some random old guy to want to hang out and party with youngsters all day? I mean c’mon, super creepy. Why take the advice of a man who isn’t even a licensed psychologist? Not to mention he went to prison. It’s sad but almost funny how clueless people can be. The lesson here is raise your children right so they have common sense and don’t follow so easily. This is just embarrassing. They made their own decisions. They weren’t children. They should’ve known and done better.

Amazing movie, cute and hilarious. Will keep kids and adults of all ages entertained. Great storyline.

Poor acting, slow to warm up, very dragged out. Not very convincing. Offensive, stereotypical, misogynistic, toxic masculinity and outdated at times. Without Denzel, it would’ve been a flop; he was the only character who could act, though casting still didn’t fit any of the roles. It was definitely overhyped. It’s also way too long with not much going on. It had a lot of potential but did not live up to it and did not feel realistic at all. Also, all the love interests in the movie are either very light skinned, Spanish, mixed or racially ambiguous, so much hidden colorism, very distasteful,& an annoying obsession and over sexualization of white women.

Great show addressing major social issues like misogyny and mental health. Some scenes, however, are corny, predictable and not always well acted or realistic. However, overall it’s very, very good, just not as good early renditions of the show or the original.

This show is amazing. It’s so raw, pure and touching. I cry every episode lol.
