Sam Mendes 1917 apart from the greatest love and sacrifice of the two corporals to save 1,600 men about to be trapped, and the back of the photo came back to us reminds us the two brothers of our grandmother. They belonged to the 26th Labour Corps from the Northeast part of India. It was only 5 years back when the Titanic sank on the Atlantic. But obeying King George V requests, they ventured the sea and that too with a song that cannot be written here as it would occupy space. Of the two Brothers, Nolin Passah was killed in Baghdad. His name is on the Epitaph in Jowai within the the indelible ink and it looked as fresh as ever. His elder brother returned home to give his father an overcoat which could still have a photo with as WW1 binoculars jacketed by leather. The love and sacrifice of the two Corporals showed the quality of the men those days. Looking at the film, we thank the Wayfaring Stranger which is a consolation to the families of those who could not return home. We are grateful to Sam Mendes for the movie. Thank you very much.
