Yeah the 4th Matrix is good. Relies on taking in a lot of info and quick updates to the Matrix trilogy rules and people.
It definitely very meta, definitely makes fun of itself and every major pop culture reboot and phenomenon that overtook the Matrix.
There's a lot to unpack but the jist of it is pretty good.
A product of our time and kind of a hopeful one. It tells a story about the dangers of taking your foot off the gas after a war or a revolution (cough Reconstruction cough) and the blessings of second chances and love - in a better way than the Star War sequels kinda botched.
I'd definitely like slightly more action but I think it's toned down nature is the point.
Better than the first - no, but redeems the other sequels and actually makes a really unique send off to 20 year old series.
