Life and Beth is so different, so subtle, you can’t watch it waiting for the big moments. At times I laugh, hysterically; at other times the tears roll. Every actor adds hilarity or humility. I especially love the young Beth, it adds so much to the story.

The story was so good I didn’t realize I was reading subtitles. Great acting, scenery, clothes, romance, intrigue. Very fulfilling series with 17 episodes. I was glad to be on that journey for awhile.

The worst period piece I’ve ever seen, period. I quit before it was half over. Terribly boring. Actors had zero chemistry and the dialogue was not engaging. I was looking forward to this movie for months and was disappointed.

The cast was cast perfectly. I never read the book but now I want to. This series isn’t soap opera style but gritty and dynamic. I’m sure it does the novel justice.

More people walked out than remained in the theater by the end. It was just boring and I love period pieces.
