Having read the book several times and having seen the movie (which I felt was somewhat flawed, but still good), I expected to enjoy this series. Unfortunately, I was surprised to find that it is just boring. I found myself repeatedly checking to see how much time was left in whichever episode I was watching. I struggled through season one, thinking it would get more interesting, after all the book is great. Then I thought season two would improve, but I just can’t do any more. I know that people want to believe that it’s relevant to today’s society, but I don’t find it so, it’s science fiction, an alternate reality. The book is great. For me, this series is just…boring. It’s like they just tried so hard to make it be important and socially relevant, that they’ve forgotten the source material.
