Exquisitely photographed homage to human endurance, human vulnerability and the cinema. Fine cast with solid performances by Tobey Jones and Colin Firth with a knockout performance by Olivia Colman. Colman endows her character with variegated nuances of sardonic humor, pathos, vulnerability, brutal honesty, and the endurance of a survivor. Several strong themes compel but are not always held tightly together with cinematic synergy. However it is a pleasure to watch such mature fare presented so well.

Totally absorbing and literate. A must see for those who want to see a penetrating and well- made film about a long-term gay relationship. Mature fare that rewards the audience on many levels.
