I enjoyed and it was very faithful to the Asterix books. They included a lot of the jokes that we all love (such as the obligatory joke about the pirates' ship sinking, a few classical jabs and, of course the feast). I would have given it five stars. But then I rewatched Asterix and the Mansions of the Gods. In the Mansions of the Gods, Asterix is cleverer and Caesar is more sinister. The name-puns are better and the pacing is well done. Animation captures the action and characters better than live action. The Middle Kingdom isn't bad, but it isn't great.
