I was in a bit of a reading slump when I started this story. I started out with the audio book but like other reviewers had mentioned, it was a little slow and harder to get into. After I got through chapter 14 I caved and bought the digital copy and so could not put it down.
The characters are very human and relatable, although Claire at some points can be borderline insufferable with some of her dialogue. Lydia is a power house of a character. The plot twists and turns keep coming even right up to the very end.
If you are a survivor of SA or are easily triggered but gruesome violence, this is not the book for you. While the author was able to really describe the imagery in this book well, I do think it’s very vulgar for a regular thriller book reader.
Will definitely read this one again.
