If there is someone in your life who appears to fit the Covert Narcissist checklist, you will find this person in the second half of the book Heroes, Rogues and Lovers. The researchers refer to them as Psychopaths. I think Psychopaths and Covert Narcissists are one and the same. And on a side note, I think that a Psychopath, if raised in a bad environment, can also be a Sociopath and that is where we get our serial killers and serial rapists. I think that sometimes these combination Psychopaths/Sociopaths are labeled as only Psychopaths which is why we often find different definitions of a Psychopath depending on who’s ‘expert’ opinion you are reading. I have no degree, I was married to one for enough years, and did enough research to figure this out because it holds up…I think…
