When I first saw this movie on my Netflix feed, I was intrigued by RDJ and Marisa Tomei as the leads in a rom-com but this film disappointed me highly.
Firstly, the characters are horribly written, Faith is a self absorbed delusional woman with the maturity of a 12 year old. Peter is a foolish, lying lunatic in love, Kate seems to be the only decent character throughout.
The cast undeniably, is exceptional but they couldn't live up to their potential in this particular film.
The plot was very inconsistent and nothing like a rom-com. There was no 'ah-hah' moment between the characters. The climax felt bland and predictable.
With that being said the cinematography was incredible and did capture the essence of Venice beautifully. The music used was also decent.
If you're looking for a rom-com to be your new favourite, sadly, this isn't the one.
