As a young boy in 1963 I re-read this book several times. An excellent plot, but also a truly good boy's "rite of passage" as Stuey gains the confidence of his parents - that he really is growing up and is becoming more dependable.

As a child I was drawn to this book and read it several times. Besides an intriguing plot, its message to young and old alike is timeless.
