I was so excited to see this cult favourite classic 80s film but I cringed when I saw scenes of racism, talks and insinuation of sexual assault and rape. Boundaries are definitely crossed majorly in this film and I used to think the 80s were a great time to grow up it seems it was a pretty messed up time. Glad to see that things are starting to change for the better and can use this view as a positive to celebrate how far we’ve come as a society.
