I honestly had very high hopes for this movie. I saw the trailers and thought the main idea from what I saw was developed well and with good character support. Boy was I wrong when I watched it.
It was 1 hour and 44 minutes of underdeveloped characters and loose ends with a twist. First off, the movie opens with Evie and she is a struggling aspiring artist caterer. She gets her DNA sample on one of those family connections websites and matches with her cousin Oliver. She meets him, they talk, then he asks her to come to a wedding in England. Her “distant” family is waiting for her as Oliver says somewhat. This makes Evie kinda feel pressured and describes that her newly late mother always wanted to go to England bla bla realizing that they are her only family left because her father died as well.. And she agreed to come despite just meeting him a few minutes ago.
Evie’s best friend is skeptic about this and really can you blame her? She just met this guy who is supposedly his cousin.
Later Evie travels to England. And comes to the house which turns out to be a literal mansion. Bla bla Evie meets the home owner and head butler. She also meets her maid miss swift. Which is an interesting name for a maid lol. Anyways. That night Evie comes out of her bed into the halls of the mansion to see the maids being lined up. One of the maids go into the locked library for cleaning and gets attacked and dies for reasons unknown-
