Was honestly disappointed. It was a good album but seemed like more of a compilation album with no actual cohesion of any kind. A jumbled mess of emotional upheaval mixed with braggadocio and topped with salacious essence.
The tracks Just The Memories, Last Time I Saw You, Fallin 4 U, and Pink Friday Girls use her apparent vocal ability in a good way, and it is a good complement to those songs. Just the Memories gives me chills when I listen to it, what a great album closer.
Barbie Dangerous, My Life, Big Difference and Beep Beep give the hardcore rap Nicki that millions have come to know and love. My Life stands out to me from these, as it makes great use of both her rapping and singing talents.
Let Me Calm Down has a great flow from both Nicki and J. Cole, although J. Cole obviously had the better verse and flow.
Needle and Cowgirl are a great vibe.
Forward from Trini, Bahm Bahm, Blessings, and Nicki Hendrix... I find to be fillers and unnecessary. Especially Blessings. Why do you have gospel tracks in an otherwise salacious album? Bahm Bahm was a scrapped song and should have stayed scrapped. Nicki Hendrix has grown on me a bit but is still not great. Forward from Trini was just downright unnecessary.
Red Ruby Da Sleeze, FTCU, and Everybody are great songs, but I've heard them so many times that I've kind of gotten sick of them. And out of the three, only Everybody really has any replay value.
Are You Gone Already and RNB were executed poorly, especially Are You Gone Already. The sample was creative but too heavily sampled, and plus a sappy song was absolutely the wrong way to start the album, as many simply skipped it to head to Barbie Dangerous.
Pink Birthday would be nice as an interlude. The hook wasn't needed.
Beep Beep was good but too short, and 50 Cent's verse was abysmal. He didn't know what to rap about.
I wasn't feeling Press Play at all. And Love Me Enough was kind of lackluster.
Which leaves Super Freaky Girl. I never liked Super Freaky Girl, and only the Queen Mix I find palatable.
Would give the album the following ratings:
Lyrics: 80/100
Flow: 77/100
Beats: 83/100
Cohesion: 55/100
Features: 75/100 (kind of disappointing)
Overall: 74/100
